About Dr. Lenard Kelley (Lenny)

Faith. Technology. Leadership
Dr. Lenard Kelley is a Catholic theologian, educator, and speaker exploring the frontier where faith meets artificial intelligence. With over 25 years of experience in pastoral ministry and faith formation, he has dedicated his life to guiding others into deeper understanding of the human person through the lens of theology, technology, and the Church’s moral tradition.

Dr. Kelley holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Christian Ministry, as well as a Master’s in Theology and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Letters. His work is grounded in Catholic social teaching, Thomistic thought, and a deep concern for human dignity in the digital age.

He currently serves as Director of Adult Faith Formation, Evangelization, and Pastoral Care at St. Patrick Catholic Community in Scottsdale, Arizona. There, he has revitalized ministry efforts, expanded outreach programs, and helped more than double the parish’s Minister of Care visits to the sick and homebound.

In recent years, Dr. Kelley has turned his attention to the ethical and theological challenges posed by artificial intelligence. Through his project Theology of AI, he teaches that the Church must not retreat from technological advancement, but engage it faithfully—asking not just what AI can do, but what it ought to do. His writing, speaking, and teaching focus on topics such as the Imago Dei in the age of algorithms, algorithmic justice, human agency, and the role of conscience in an automated world.

He is also a loving husband to Jeanette and proud father of three. Whether teaching RCIA, leading retreats, or preaching about God’s presence in a digitized culture, Dr. Kelley brings clarity, compassion, and conviction to every conversation.
